Belgian owner Leentje
Van den Eede (Leen for short!) studied
in the Netherlands and at the New York Botanical
Gardens, USA. She then trained with top Manhattan
florists Floralia Decorators at the Waldorf Astoria
Hotel. In New York, she also worked at Takashimaya
on 5th Avenue, Plaza Florist on Park Avenue and
Vert-de-gris.
Leen moved to the UK in 2007 and took over an established florists in Linton,
near Cambridge, which she renamed 'The Flower Boutique'. Within
a year the shop was selected as one of just 12 English florists to feature in
Sally Page’s beautiful new book ‘Flower Shops & Friends – a
year’s journey around English flower shops’.
Leen's mix of continental and English influences, combined with a touch of New
York avant-garde, is a truly unique style you won’t find on every high
street. This was recognised by Masterflorist and the shop is
now included in their top 250 recommended florists.
